iPhone Pic of the Day

I love black and white photography. I love grainy black and white photographs. They remind me of some pretty happy times in my life. As a wedding photographer here in Western/Buffalo New York business is slower in the winter and I tend to take many more B & W photos during this time. When I see an “old” looking photo I immediately think of my grandfather and the relationship we had. I also think of times gone by and how simple those times were compared to today. For me black and white photos tell an emotional story that color just can’t seem to capture. There are times, despite my great love for the technology we have today (I can’t see myself living without my iPhone) but I long for a time when things were much simpler. I still use a fountain pen and still collect antique fountain pens. I still write letters to my wife on really nice stationery and seal the envelope with a hot, pressed wax seal. My grandfather taught me quite a lot about everything. We used to say he was a “jack of all trades and a master of none.” Grandpa, I thank you for all that you did for me and all you allowed me to be. Your guiding hand when I was a small boy helped me to be the person I am today!

I hope you enjoy this pic. I really like it.
