This was an iPhone pic I took on our trip from Western New York to the Adirondack’s. As a wedding photographer based in Buffalo, NY my eye is always on the move and looking for something that others don’t see. It’s not uncommon for me to stop over a hundred times just to explore and snap photos. This makes me “not much fun to hike with.” For this photo our group had stopped at a rest stop for bathroom breaks and I was goofing around with my iPhone just snapping some pics. I was holding the phone facing the ground and when I looked at the screen I noticed the wonderful contrast between the shadows and light areas. I snapped the pic and the rest as they say “is history.” When I take wedding photos I have a tendency to do the same thing. My eye roves and often I can see a photo before I get ready to take it. I’m always looking for something to photograph in a non-traditional way. Most of the photos I take this way are what I call “pleasing to the eye.” They may not be perfect with respect to lighting, exposure, etc. but to me this is what really catches my eye. I hope it catches yours as well. Enjoy.
