I love the seasonal changes.
The seasonal changes are one of the things that keeps me here in Western New York. Sure there are times when I wish a season like summer would last longer and a season like winter would be more brief but the change of seasons is something fantastic to view. Each season has it’s own unique attributes and makes that season special. Spring is a time of rebirth and growth and of renewed hope. For me it’s also a time of renewed energy and focus toward my photography and the business of photography. I love Spring.

Here’s a list of what “I like about Spring.”
- The snow and ice melt.
- It starts to get warmer.
- I get to see my accountant. Love ya Marge!
- Thoughts of kayaking begin to return.
- I can slowly begin to put away winter clothing.
- I can start wearing shorts (or at least begin to think about it).
- Daylight savings.
- Coffee [not that this is seasonal but I love it so much!].
- Start walking/running outside, safely.
- Outdoor photography becomes much more fun. [Frozen fingers are no fun]
- Wedding bookings begin to increase.
- Trees and bushes begin to sprout new growth.
- The kayak rack goes back on the car.
- I start kayaking.
- Snow shovels and snow thrower are put away.
- Less worry about driving because of the weather.
- One step closer to football season.
- The increased need for sunglasses.
- I can get a “real” tan.

Now for the list of what I “don’t like about Spring.”
- Dirty snow.
- Mud.
- Lots of rain.
- The grass/yard looks gross.
- I begin to think about cleaning out the garage.
- I think about cleaning the garage some more.
- If Spring/Summer weddings haven’t been booked they probably won’t be.
- I need to wear a wetsuit while kayaking.
- Get the lawnmower ready.
- Pick-up Winter debris
As you can see my list of likes is greater than that of dislikes. Often I find myself needing to look, sometimes harder than others for the positives; but if I look they’re there. I use this tool in other areas of my life as well and it helps me keep my sanity and helps me to accomplish some pretty amazing things.
