Spring is finally here. We have been patiently waiting for a long time. Last week as I drove Rte. 219 into the Southern Tier the sides of the roadway as far up the embankment as one could see, there it was…snow. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing…snow. It was depressing despite the fact I knew it would melt by the time I drove home, but snow…C’mon, it’s the end of April. know we’re in Western New York but c’mon.
I’m sitting in my favorite Adirondack chair sipping an Edmund Fitzgerald in my shorts with my dog enjoying the last vestiges of a beautiful day knowing there are many more to come.
I hope you enjoy these photos as these are some of the things I notice sitting in my yard.

Jack and I are being stalked. OK, maybe not stalked maybe just watched because Jack had chased this guy up the tree so many times he decided he was going to sit and watch until we went into the house.

The only time he would appear awake was when Nancy placed a straw between his lips. It was like a Pavlonian response. The minute he sensed the straw he began to suck. The doctors said it made no difference if he ate solid foods again as long as he consumed the two small bottles of fortified milk they provide at each meal as it contains more than enough vitamins to keep his weight normal.
Occasionally Pops would wake long enough that Nancy could spoon feed him.
